"We experienced electricity cut off in the evening and the property’s backup generator was not strong enough to supply AC to the room. On a specific night there was also no water at the same time as no electricity. While the team couldn’t really help us on the spot they have extended a complimentary night for us which was appreciated as a gesture of good will."

"An absolute gem in Zanzibar! Our stay here was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the front-of-house service was exceptional — everyone was so warm and welcoming, and the owner, Sarah, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast each morning was delicious and beautifully presented, a perfect start to each day. The little touches really made this place stand out — like coming back in the evening to find the bed freshly made and the room perfectly tidied. The location was fantastic, close to everything but still peaceful and relaxing, and the aesthetics of the property were just stunning — every corner feels thoughtfully designed. Overall, amazing value for money and one of the best places we’ve stayed. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Zanzibar!"

"Lovely small property that felt like we were in a quiet oasis. The staff are really friendly and helpful, few minutes walk to the beach, and restaurants. Very small supermarket. Small pool- but it was great"

"A nice hotel a couple minutes by feet from the sea. The breakfast is very tasty and the hotel has a nice style. The hotel has not many rooms which makes a very calm and quite feeling inside the area. The rooms are big. Power outages might appear but this happens on this island and they have a generator to cover these periods. The staff is very friendly! Would definitely book a room at this hotel again if we come back to Paje."

"The way in front of the hotel seems a bit dark in the evening/night. But Paje felt very safe for us. The breakfast is very tasty but could be a bit more but this can be a personal preference as well and might be more than enough for others. Other than that it's a nice hotel"

"Not so much didn’t like, just be aware, the beach is a few mins walk away and if you have an activity booked for after breakfast e.g. 10am, maybe be extra early for breakfast and let the staff know."

"They should add black curtains, as it’s like you slept outside, lights and noises of animals non stop. Try to sleep early because from 5AM you will not be able to sleep. Also for the check out, no one will help you to take your luggage even if it’s heavy as there is no men at the reception during the day"
