"A superb stately Edwardian home positioned by the sea. Spectacular views and absolute comfort within. We had a huge bedroom with couch, dining table, desk, wardrobe (with fridge inside) and large ensuite. Susan, our host was wonderful and shared local knowledge on dining options and day trips. So glad we had three nights in this beautiful home. Port Chalmers was a few minutes drive and a very interesting suburb with a working port. Dunedin was about ten minutes away by car. Highly recommended as great alternative to soulless hotels. Fab bed and linen too."

"Location was amazing, slightly elevated with extensive views over the bay to the Otago peninsula and in its own large garden with plenty of parking. An interesting historical building, sympathetically and beautifully renovated by the proprietors and we were offered a choice of room on arrival, individually and tastefully decorated with antique furniture. Bed was very comfortable and the whole house was serene and quiet in quite a “grand” style."

"We loved this house though some may find it a little too far from town for meals if on a longer stay (no room cooking facilities and SC only) and it’s a long drive back and forth if visiting the peninsula more than once. Though a very quiet house, a railway line runs below along the shoreline and very light sleepers may be disturbed by infrequent trains during the night. We would stay again in a heartbeat."

"Our stay at this beautiful historic lodge was the perfect place to wrap up our wonderful 16-day New Zealand trip! The rooms were spacious and so comfortable! We stayed in the Albatross room with a comfy king bed. The second morning, we were up early and saw a spectacular sunrise from our windows over the water! The views from our room were beautiful! Our host recommended a wonderful seafood restaurant, Carey Bay. It was so good that we ate there both nights! Had no idea I would love both Monk and Elephant Fish but they were superb! I also loved that they were served with generous helpings of local vegetables!"

"Super schönes Zimmer mit Bad im stilvoll ausgestatteten Steinhaus von 1907; sehr nette Gastgeberin; nur wenige Km außerhalb von Dunedin gelegen; idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Stadtbesichtigung, aber auch für Aktivitäten an der Küste. Diese Unterkunft sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen!"
