"The property is well-located, relatively close to the city center. It's an interesting retro-style building with surprising features. The upstairs kitchen and library are also nice, as are the views of the city from the balcony. The property was clean, and the staff were very friendly."

"Its a converted private hospital (skull drilling, leeches) with a great view of the city perched in an elevated spot half way up High Street. The Top floor houses the double rooms, up out of the way of much of the traffic. These are quite tight since they were nurses quarters back in the day. My room was quite cosy with a heater and a good usable window 'with a view'. There are a few good spots to chill outside in the back garden or up on the third floor balcony. There is a commanding view of the city and harbour. The main kitchen is well up to the task and the showers are powerful. Plenty of lounge areas to chill out. Busy uptown vibe."

"The building is old with little effort made towards modern comfort. The sound does carry and the door gaps and wooden surfaces make every bodily function audible to the adjected guests. Bring headphones to cover the sounds of other guests and don't plan on any loud food or physical intimacy with your own partner, however I had a guy snoring in the room next to me and he might as well have climbed in bed with me. We never met but the sounds and smells told a huge story. It wasn't like having my own room I might as well have been in a dorm. Every time the hall light came on the gap around the door lit up like "close encounters" A couple travelling might be best not to take the risk and pay a little more to get a motel room. You'll be too self conscious to perform but everyone will hear you arguing about it!"

"This hostel looks like it hasn't been touched in decades. It was like going back in time. The carpets were threadbare, paint was peeling off the woodwork. There was a sign on the fridge saying it was cleaned on a Friday but definitely wasn't on the Friday that I was there as a spillage remained there for the whole of my stay. There weren't enough showers and the sinks in the toilet rooms weren't big enough to get washed in. As a minimum needs a good lick of paint but really needs to be modernised."

"Staff seemed very busy, so checking in and asking for help during reception hours was quite difficult. The hostel was not very clean, and the noise insulation was very poor — I could hear every single word from the next room, which suggests the building is quite old."
