Solitaire Mountain Lodge

"I thought the staff were incredibly helpful. There wasn't anything Anna wouldn't have done to make our overnight stay comfortable. She went over and above to ensure all guests were well looked after. The lodge was in a remote part of Solitaire, it was very quite and peaceful. There was a waterhole which was used by Waterhogs a nice treat. There was a stunning sun set."

"We were not aware that the lodge was 5 km from the main road and 6 km from Solitaire centre. This wasn't a problem it just wasn't clear on booking.com and there were no signs when we turned off the main road."

"Great location in a natural setting, loads of birds so ideal for some birdwatching. Beautiful and spacious room and bathroom with a nice terrace and view. Dinner at the restaurant was good and staff everywhere very friendly."

"The landscaping with trees and succulents was outstanding. The deck paved with ripple- marked stone was a work of art. The thatched room was very spacious and the view from the stoep was very peaceful. We were pleased to have a refrigerator as we were carrying meat, vegetables and fruit for further self-catering nights. The bathroom was very good and there was a convenient power point for recharging devices."

"The only disappointment was the dinner and breakfast. A number of dishes, including ones we'd chosen, were not available because the items had not been restocked."

"We had a family room with view on a waterhole. The lodge is great and in a beautiful area! The staff is super kind and helpful. Everything was clean and the pool in the desert is great. On the second evening we booked a sundowner tour with snacks. Highly recommended!"

"Spacious individual huts, well furnished, the staff even lent us a fridge for our stay. Fabulous swimming pool area, probably the best of our month long trip. Absolutely beautiful location. Very affordable and good quality food. Lovely staff."
