"Everything was great.. absolutely everything! First of all it was the cleanest room of all the ones we stayed in. Everything around us was spotless and pleasantly scented. The family who owns the property is so warm and friendly. Breakfast was different every morning and the area is wonderfully quiet.Ypu definitely won't regret it"

"Pawana Rest is an oasis of tranquility, perfect for chilling and unwinding after a long trip or after a day of exploring the many attractions around Dambulla. This small but charming homestay is very well managed and the whole family works as a perfect team making sure that guests’ needs and requests are promptly met. Our room was spotless, big enough, with a very comfortable bed and a basic but modern and functional bathroom. The food – traditional Sri Lankan one, adapted to our spice tolerance level - cooked by Nuwan (currently training to become a chef) and his mother was hands down the best (quality and presentation) we had during our 1 month tour of Sri Lanka. This family’s wonderful hospitality will make your stay in the Sri Lankan countryside a bliss. Highly recommend."

"This is a very simple family homestay and is a delight to stay in. It's incredibly clean and quiet and the family that run it are absolutely lovely! It's very handy for the caves at Dambulla or visiting Sigirya or Pidurangala. The family will arrange transport for you. We had such a nice time and had a wonderful afternoon having Sri Lankan cookery lessons with our hosts. I highly recommend the cooking lessons, we learnt so much and got to eat it all afterwards!"

"The hotel is run by a wonderful family. The hospitality, service, cleanliness, breakfast are to the highest standards. I am deeply impressed when the owner has traveled back and forth 100 kms to get my medicines that I forgot in a restaurant on the way to Pawana Rest. The son has organized almost everything that we require in the city. The mother has cooked delicious food for us. I highly recommend the hotel to any traveller. Thank you for everything."

"We had such a good, memorable time here. Taken very well care of by Manju (the owner), we enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the wild, off the beaten track, with beautiful nature all around us. The food was delicious and filling, vegetarian and vegan diets catered for completely. They lit us a fire one night and we enjoyed dinners by candlelight every night. The beds were super comfy and the large hut that we stayed in was very spacious - good for all bags and clothes. Manju organised our safari day and our trip to a local beach. He was ready to meet our every need and was very kind and friendly with our children too."

The food was the best we experienced in Sri Lanka by far and having the ability to visit the bigger sister hotel whenever we needed a change of scenery was perfect.
