"Our departure was very early in the morning. And they won't accomodate request for simple boxed breakfasts. Only allowed to pack bread and jam/butter. Based on our other hotels' experience, they would pack us a sandwich, water and fruit in a bag."

"Not a huge choice of sit in restaurants around the hotel, and those there were needed to be booked. But hey, it's Taipea and public transport is so cheap and efficient so it's easy to reach other areas and the fabulous food markets."

"It is a small boutique hotel with very good customer service. The staff are friendly and helpful. They deserve special commendation. The Asian breakfast selection was yummy and of good variety. We stayed for 5 nights and the breakfast menu changed every day. Love the variety of fruits served at breakfast. Also love the cleanliness of the room. Love the location which is close to dongmen station."

"The pillow is a rather uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping without any pillow. The bed is fine. I can still have a good night sleep. The Aircon was a little temperamental making loud on the first day. Thankfully the loud noise disappeared after around 10-15m and the noise issue didn’t reoccur on day 2 onwards."

"We stayed at Citizen Hotel twice during our trip to Taipei — first for six nights when we arrived, and again for two nights before leaving Taiwan. Both stays were excellent! The staff were very communicative and helpful even before we arrived, and they kindly stored our luggage while we traveled around the island. We had the same room both times (8th floor), which was spotless and very comfortable. The bed was firm (just how we like it), sound insulation was great, the temperature was easy to control, and the shower worked perfectly. We slept really well every night. The hotel is conveniently located near the metro station, making it easy to reach the main attractions around Taipei. The self-service laundry facilities were also very convenient — both washer and dryer worked well (each costs 60 NTD, and the reception can provide change). Overall, we had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend Citizen Hotel for its comfort, location, and friendly service!"

"Breakfast was decent, though a bit repetitive. The hot dishes rotated daily, but options for a Western-style breakfast were somewhat limited (not an issue for us). Given Taiwan’s amazing fruit variety, I found the fruit selection a little underwhelming — I bought my own fruit to add to breakfast. The only real downside was the coffee, which was very weak, so I’d suggest bringing your own drip coffee if you like a stronger brew."
