This establiment is on Akureyri’s main street, Hafnarstraeti, less than 2 km from Akureyri Airport. It offers en-suite guest rooms, free parking and views of the Eyjafjörður fjord. We have an A-la-carte eespai balnearii de restauració and an urban farm located inside the casa rural, serving our own produce which we grow using renewable energy. In the evening, supper features a meal of the day menu. We do not have a manned reception but a self-service contact-less check-in & out process where guests can either use their own mobiles or a kiosk located inside our reception. Akureyri Church is just a 6-minute walk from Hostal Akureyri, while Hof Cultural and Conference Centre is a 10-minute walk away. Lake Mývatn is less than a 1-hour drive away.

"Not so much a dislike but unfortunately the North restaurant located inside the hotel is only open (at least in March) Wednesday- Saturday therefore was unable to try it."

"The ratio of bathroom to the rest of the area was 1:1. I am not sure if that was the case because it was rooms for the disabled, but I would have expected a bit more space outside and less in the restroom. Also, it would have been nice to have a Hottub on the property (Much easier said that done!)"
"Really lovely hotel in a great location. Akuyeri is a v small town and you can walk everywhere, even to the forest lagoon if you wanted to but it’s better to get a taxi across that bridge in the dark. we loved a game of pool and a beer and the breakfast was excellent. We didn’t mind walking to the building next door for it. Great base for exploring."

"Perfect location for exploring northern Iceland. Comfortable beds. We booked standard double and were very happy with the room. Nicely stylish room. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. A variety of things on offer for all tastes. Staff helpful and friendly. Spoke very good English."
