"Any place on the Westmann Islands is a bystander to its setting. This is a well-maintained home on a pleasant estate above the town. It is an 11-minute uphill walk from the port, passing the bakery that makes a good place for breakfast. Everything is walkable here, including the traces of the volcano damage from 1973, so no need to bring the car. The town's brewery and taphouse is one of the best in Iceland and there are good restaurants too. After I left my keys in my door, the owner went out of his way to get them back to me urgently via the ferry operators - thank you."
