"Overall I enjoyed my stay. The staff there are a fun and interesting bunch. Half the time I thought I was in an Indian remake of Fawlty Towers. There was some haphazard chaos but in the end it was more endearing than annoying. For instance, every night I got the same call to my room asking if I had made a food order (which I hadn't). Not annoying and if anything it showed good diligence. But ultimately the staff do try really hard and aim to provide a good service and (most of the time) they do."
"The bed was a little hard. Not unbearable but a bit harder than I usually like. The laundry service is ridiculously expensive compared to other services. The shower works but when you turn the hot water on it shudders and spits like it hasn't been used in months."
"We had a wonderful stay at the Roland Hotel! It’s a very charming and peaceful place, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was delicious — we really appreciated that the focus was on Indian dishes, with just a small continental selection. That’s something we’ve found quite rare in other Indian hotels, so thumbs up for that! We also loved the little touches: two complimentary bottles of water and a small welcome snack in the room. We can warmly recommend the Roland Hotel for anyone visiting Kolkata. Thank you for the great hospitality!"

"I was visiting my parents in Kolkata and our house was filled with guests and other family so I decided to book a room at Roland which is close to my parent's apartment. I found Roland Hotel good value for my money. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and the shower had great water pressure. The Wifi wasn't working the weekend I stayed which was unfortunate as I had network issues on my phone within the hotel. The TV was a smart TV with a cable box hooked up so that is great (especially when the Wifi works). The breakfast was tasty and the spread was basic which makes sense for the price point. The location is actually pretty great for anyone who finds Park Street or Park Street adjacent hotels overpriced. The staff was supportive. Overall, I am happy to find a hotel that I could house some of my guests in when my Kolkata home fills up and feel safe that they would be comfortable in it."
