The first pensió design by renowned interior designer Suzie McAdam, Armada House allows its c.1807 origins as a gentleman’s residence to speak clearly, honouring its history while introducing a striking contemporary layer. The result is a refined yet fearless retreat, rich in character, atmosphere, and story. Luxurious bedrooms and suites feature L’Occitane in-room amenities, an evening turndown service with Grá Chocolates, and thoughtful details that elevate every stay. Mabel’s Dining Room offers a breakfast experience that celebrates Clare producers and Armada Farm’s home-grown produce, while curated playlists by Susan O’Neill set the tone throughout the house. Art is woven seamlessly into the experience, from a curated Mick O’Dea collection to a spectacular hand-painted ceiling by muralist Michael Dillon—a playful, imaginative underwater world inspired by the house’s seaside setting. "Beautifully renovated Victorian style house. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Lovely, attentive and professional staff. Excellent breakfast. Great attention to detail, we loved the welcome drink and nightcap. Really nice toiletries. A very comfortable and quiet stay by the ocean. We also had an excellent dinner in the Armada Hotel across the road. We will definitely be back! Thank you for being wonderful hosts!"
"It’s difficult to find a fault to be honest but if I had to pick something, the tv in the room was in a little living room separate to the bed so you can’t watch tv in bed in that particular room that we stayed in. And the tv wasn’t a Smart tv so we couldn’t watch Netflix/YouTube etc. But it wouldn’t stop us from staying again!"
