"Peaceful, calm and beautiful area of Valamo was a pleasant experience. The room facilities were quite modest and minimalist, with small single beds and a shared toilet, but it felt suitable given the monastery atmosphere. Nice simple breakfast was included"
"The room had only thin white curtains, and it was very bright outside even at night during summer, so it was impossible to sleep in the dark. Dark and thick curtains would have been much appreciated"

"Staying at the "new" Valamo monastery is a trip into another space and time. The industry and enterprise of the Monks and their ecosystem of volunteers is evident and impressive. The visitor is present in their world. There is a very good guided tour, and even though Monks are not known for being talkative, if you are lucky it is possible to have a meaningful conversation. It is possible to begin to understand the structure of the religion. A wonderful, memorable experience."

"Paikka on upea ja sen ylläpitäminen on äärimmäisen hienoa. Valamossa vierailu on aina vuoden kohokohta. Ravintolan ruoka oli hyvää ja henkilökunta ystävällistä. "Voi olla, että Valamossa olon aikana kohtaa lyhyesti vain muutaman ihmisen. Siksi kohtaamiset ovat tärkeitä. Tuntuisi mukavalta, jos majoituksesta vastaava mieshenkilö vaihtaisi muutaman small talk sanan ja vaikka kysyisi miten matka meni. Nyt avaimien jättö ja muu sujuu vaivautuneen hiljaisuuden vallitessa ja tuntuu, että siinö on vain vaivaksi. Vastuu small talkista oli asiakkaalla."
