"This is a characterful hotel - a little faded in parts but that adds to its charm. The breakfast was excellent and well arranged (most of the food was in place on our table when we arrived). The hotel is just across the road from Porvoo cathedral, one of the town's main sights."

"The shower room was tiny, and the shower floor was the same height as the rest of the room, so water went everywhere! And there was no shelf in the shower to hold shampoo, etc."

"Loved the breakfast, simple and fresh but maybe needed fresh seasonal fruits for example apples , blueberries or strawberries. And waste bin would be handy, if you are traveling with kids( they are always eating in between meals 😊 ) maybe outside in backyard"

"Beyond belief beautiful. Great location in centre of old town Porvoo. Exceptional in presentation, a gorgeous old period wooden building, chocolate box pretty. The couple who run this place superb and inviting. Best breakfast - great variety - all local and fresh produce. The best tastes."

"It’s different as the hotel is owned by the restaurant, but the owners have done a fantastic job in redesigning it into a wonderful place to stay - the breakfast area has a shabby chic look about it and felt so personal with the attention to detail. The staff were so friendly and helpful plus it was well organised We booked it as it has the same name as our dog ☺️"

"Location in old building in centre of historic city. The staff were young, maybe inexperienced, but friendly and keen to sort out problems when they arose. The (four-poster!) bed was a double with one mattress and we worried we would disturb each other rolling over in our sleep, but it was very good quality and hardly transmitted any movement from one side to the other. So a good night's sleep was had throughout."

"One day we returned to find that our parking space was taken. This was the hotel's fault as they had over-booked. They were very apologetic and refunded us two out of three days' parking charge, as well as explaining how to park for free a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast was OK (excellent home-made granola!) but a buffet would have saved waste. Also if a boiled egg is served cold, it needs to be hard boiled. This was not always the case."
