"Being so close to the volcano, everything was covered in ash. That was uncomfortable, but what else could you expect when you're next to a volcano? This just added to the experience."

"I stayed in the Tree Top House for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The cabin is simple but comfortable, with a comfy bed and a fantastic view. Waking up at sunrise high up in the treetops and hearing the volcano rumbling in the distance is truly magical. Susan, Philip, and the family are super friendly and welcoming, and Susan prepares nice meals. There are also great experiences and activities nearby. Highly recommended for a unique experience!"

"Glowing Mountain Treehouse is in an exceptional location! If it's close proximity to the volcano and an authentic experience that you're after, this is the place to stay!! We could see the glow of the volcano throughout the night and felt the Earth and treehouse shake with each eruption. We were picked up from the airport and taken to the treehouse, then to the volcano. Breakfast was filling. The grounds are lovely. Definitely recommend it!!"

"There was no light in the room. The mattress was very thin and unfortunately, not at all comfortable."

"Phillip and Suzanne are wonderful hosts. They made sure we had everything we need for a comfortable stay. Since we are vegetarians and had informed them about it beforehand, Suzanne took the effort to prepare us really tasty and healthy food using local veggies. Phillip accompanied us to a custom dance show at Imayo village and shared stories of the island and the people in the villages. The proximity to Mt Yasur and the experience of staying in a tree house with the view of the mountain was exceptional!! Highly recommend staying with this lovely family!!"

"Amazing unique property with a beautiful family. So much effort and care has gone into building this home stay. The family that own are beautiful kind generous people. Beautiful being able to see the volcano from the balcony and bedroom window and hear it rumble. The fact it’s only 4km from the summit is great so gives flexibility to go visit if the weather is bad. Food is generous and local. Drinking water is provided"

"The only thing I can fault is that it’s 15 metres off the ground so it takes a bit of effort to go to bathroom in middle of night!"

"Joel and his famile are the best hosts! So friendly, warm and welcoming. They can help you arrange airport transfer, visit to the mountain, cultural village, cannibals, etc. All at great prices. They can cook lunch and dinner for a small fee and provide free water all you can drink. The treehouse is amazing with the best view. Location is great and very close to the visitorcenter and the ash plane (15 min. Walk). You can even see the volcano from the balcony and hear it’s roar. We were their very first guests and really enjoyed our 2 night stay. They are working hard to improve everyday but the basics are in place. However, there is no electricity so bring a full powerbank and a headlamp."

"C'est une cabane magique perchée très haut dans un magnifique banyan. Il faut être en bonne forme physique pour y monter et l'apprécier et surtout ne pas avoir le vertige. Mais le concept est fabuleux. On est merveilleusement bien la-haut : petit vent frais, petit balcon. Tout est très simple, rustique mais plein de charme et propre."

"Accueil très agréable, bonne situation proche du volcan. Suzanne et Philippe ont été adorables et ont tout fait pour que notre séjour se passe au mieux. Pas d'eau courante dans les sanitaires mais des seaux d'eau et pas d'électricité dans la cabane. Mais ça n'empêche pas de passer un bon séjour. Les repas étaient très bon."
