"The new manager is a great person, extremely helpful and ready to help."
"I liked everything."
"Great location with easy walk to the ferry. I loved the quirky nature of the building with it's unique furniture and hundreds of interesting photos on the walls. The room (Shiraz) was fine with a net and we didn't hear any of the port or mosque noise that others complained about in the morning. The breakfast and staff were exceptional on the rooftop with great views and breezes"

"Loved the personal vibe and the guests and people working there. Had a great time. Recommend! Heard that this is one of the first hotels in Stone Town, you can feel its unique revolutionärt vibe!"

"The service from gervas the receptionist was perfect"
"In the bathroom faucets some were not working"
"I really enjoyed my stay here! The staff were super friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The location is great close to the beach and some nice places to visit in Stone Town. I loved the rooftop area, it had a nice view and atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and good value for the price. The food was great too, and the breakfast was really nice!"
"The only thing I didn’t like was the Wi-Fi the speed was quite low, so it wasn’t great if you need to work online. Other than that, everything else was really good!"
"A jouney back to the 70s & 80s .. Hundreds of old pictures on the walls. For visitors who rather like to experience something authentic and real african flair, rather than shiny shiny hotels. Rooms are tidy, bathrooms are ok for an african hostel and the good rate you pay. Good breakfirst, nice rooftop ! On one of the days I came upstairs and the host shared his meal with me : ) Also if you are lucky you meet interesting guests there who have a story to tell. For me personally it was one of the best hostels on my tanzanian journey."
"What to say.. if you like to be in an authentic environment in Africa.. -> manage your expectations and bring some essentials yourself (soap basically, but I am sure they would have given me if I had asked, maybe just not in time : )"
"The owner Benedict was super friendly and super helpful, even though his English was very limited. Breakfast was great and made fresh to order. Location was right next to the local fish market and about a 15 minute walk to shops/ bars and restaurants and also the Freddy mercury museum"
"We did ask to swap rooms to one with a private bathroom which wasn’t an issue we just paid a small upgrade ."
"I liked that how hospitable the staff were, they were very friendly. The rooftop they have is very beautiful, they use recyclable material to decorate and considering how hot it is in Zanzibar, the rooftop was the place I spent the most time which also allowed me to talk to so many other solo travellers and guests. If you are still contemplating on staying at this place and want a video that shows how the place looks, I shared a review on my Instagram @leratospov_ go check it out."
"It was very dusty, it seemed like they didn’t clean very well or maybe the plants were causing that, I’m not too sure. The WiFi was very unreliable, I work online and it was so hard to do so."
"Malindi guest House feels like a walk into the past .. Located in the Malindi neighbourhood of Stone Town , you find yourself located in a very lively and traditional way of life. The fish harbour and market is a stone throw away as is the old Jahazi sailboat port. Good street food is easily accessible and it is a great place to meet local folk , to sit and observe . The terrace provides a cool breeze with sounds drifting up from the streets .. old black and white photos of zanzibar adorns the wall , each one telling a rich story. Besides that the owner has a green streak . Much greenery and up-cycled furniture which makes Malindi House very unique in Zanzibar ."

"Veramente favoloso! Riassumendo....meraviglioso e fortemente consigliato."

"The room was very comfortable, had all the basic amenities and more, but the best part was the host, Sale. He was super friendly, accommodating all our special requests and even gave us a tour of the city. Wish him all the best and thanks for making our stay in Stonetown so pleasant."

"I stayed at zLife Hostel for one night and absolutely loved it. Modi, the reception staff, was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. He gave me excellent advice on how to spend the day in Stone Town, explained why it’s important to use an official guide, what the fair prices should be, and helped me avoid common tourist traps. I truly felt looked after. The hostel is very well located, in a small lively alley where locals often stop to take photos. It’s walking distance from the main marina where excursions depart and close to everything in Stone Town. My room was beautiful, very clean, and had a private bathroom. There was no AC, but the large fan worked perfectly. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the windows had metal bars, which made me feel very safe. The overall cleanliness was excellent. A warm, well-run hostel with great people and a fantastic location. I would definitely stay here again."
