Fenchihu Hotel

"We liked the free tours that were available at the hotel. The location was also very good, being right along the main street. The room was well equipped with a small soaking tub. And it was clean. The toilet looked like it had been recently updated."

"The doors and walls were rather thin, although that is understandable given the age of the hotel. The smell of the bamboo shoots from the bento boxes was quite strong in the hallway during dining hours."

"The location was superb, within 2minutes of the train station and also along the old street. It's is also the place for the famous bento box. Room was tatami style and had a wooden bathtub which was unique. There is no heating but the dehumidifier acts as a mini warm air blower."

"Excellent location. A stone throw away from train/bus stations, 7-11 and the local shops. The hotel serves a dinner menu that’s great value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful in facilitating our requests. Complimentary food vouchers for 7-11 and the local tea leaves are very thoughtful gifts. Room itself was very spacious and comfortable enough."

"The location - on the main street and 2-minute walk from the train station and the bus station. The Japanese style room was spacious and comfortable. The wooden bath tub was super nice. I also liked the tea area where you can enjoy your own tea/breakfast. It was also very quiet at night so that you can get proper rest. The rooftop terrace offered a great lookout on the city and mountains."

"You can tell the hotel is not new (but it is however clean and comfortable). The lighting. You have to take the key out to turn off the lights (and so, the electricity as well meaning you cannot charge your phone etc. at night)"

"Very good stay. The staff were fantastic. We arrived and had accidentally booked the wrong night for our room! The staff kindly transferred our booking to the correct night and even upgraded our room to what was available without an additional cost! The dinner they provided was incredible food and I would highly recommend choosing this option. The ekiben we had for lunch was very tasty, and enjoyed on the rooftop that had amazing views. The room itself was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The views from our room were fantastic and it was very quiet (except for the rooster at 4am)!"
