"I was assigned to two different rooms during my stay. Even though the second was smaller by description, I liked it better in fact. The very fairly priced Rendezvous OldTown had a homey, unpretentious feel to it, and is one of Chiang Mai's origjnal family run guesthouses of the tourism era. Good a/c, though hardly needed in January. Big soft bed even in their smallest set of rooms. Located on a leafy, quiet alley just 80 m from the main east-west road in the Old City, which becomes a noisy crowded tourist pedestrian night market 2 or 3 nights a week. Restaurants nearby. Very convenient airport shuttle service by private car that will be cheaper than taxi or grab. Really nice to wakeup and hear the birds at roof level. I would return if circumstances allow it."
"Furniture in rooms is a little ad hoc and less than comfortable. A coffee maker (3 in 1 instant) is set up only in larger rooms. No breakfast is available onsite, but that's unimportant as there is an option a minute's stroll up the alley. If you have weak knees, or big bags the stairs may not be for you."
