"Lovely place, well located, amazing staff, very good food, comfortable common areas and rooms, attention to detail including boot cleaning, foot massages, bed warmers, nice fireplace in room, bathrobes and slippers, tea in room, lovely garden, etc."

"From the minute we arrived we were welcomed with open arms 💕 ALL the staff were so helpful and amazing. They communicated everything that we needed to know about hiking up to the gorillas and anything else. We especially loved the Rwandan uniqueness and feel of the property as it was spacious, clean and cosy all at the same time. The bed was firm but very comfortable and the shower was large with lots of hot water The garden was so peaceful and we had beautiful breakfasts there. The food was so good that I wanted to take the chef home 😊 but they were over feeding us !!! and needed to tell them to reduce the portions."

"All of it but it's the staff that make this place so special. From Ibrahim's foot massages, to the attentiveness of the staff at all times following us round with a portable fire, making the fires in our room, cleaning our hiking boots and the food in the restaurant is sublime. Couldn't have had a nicer stay! The view of the volcanos is incredible, and the hotel arranged our bisoke hike transport and it was great."

"Make sure the hotel is providing reasonable and local taxi rates, we had to provide external prices for reference and they were alot cheaper...."

"Although it was cold, doors and windows were open all the time. Because of this, the places in the lodges were heated with a charcole device, that was unhealthy and not very sustainable."

"Egide & Julius were great at attending to everything. The location is beautiful, the rooms huge and well set up. Hot water bottles at bed at night were almost too hot, so they did the job!"

"There was like warm water at best to shower. The rooms stay cold so it’s not pleasant to take a semi cold shower. I understand that no wifi in the rooms is for people to connect with the nature, but there’s not a lot to do after it gets dark at 19:00, and it’s 2025, put WiFi in them."
