Hidden away amongst the ancient streets of Tavira, the Calçada Guesthouse combines a rustic exterior with a avantguardista interior. It offers bright rooms, each with a private bathroom, and some come with views of the Asseca River. The individually decorated rooms at the Calçada feature a seating area and actual bathrooms, all with a shower and hairdryer. There is a communal area with free WiFi and seating areas with complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Guests can relax on the furnished sun terrace, or enjoy the local and international cuisine in the many restaurants and café’s less than 10 minutes’ walk away. There are also museums, galleries, and the Tavira Castle within a 15-minute walk. The golden beach of Tavira Island can be accessed via the summer ferry which is a 5-minute walk away. Faro city centre and Faro International Airport are both a 35-minute drive by car. Free public parking is available at a location nearby.

"This is our second visit to the Calcada. Excellent hosting by Sangita. Spotlessly clean and tidy with great facilities such as tea and coffee and fridge to keep beer and wine. The main square and Roman Bridge are just 2-3 minutes walk."

"Great location in heart of old town, a few steps from river. Restored old building - lovely room (#1) and plenty of shared places to sit and read/ write/chat. Tea/ coffee/ water dock available for guests in lounge; fridge available on roof terrace. Peaceful oasis - very nicely decorated. Charming, efficient staff - the British owners didn’t appear, but the place is expertly run by two delightful Nepalese women. Great breakfast - plus they made special Gluten free pancakes for me."

"The location -walking distance to the beach was great. Peaceful atmosphere, very chill. Very well equipped with everything you need. Magnificent views from the room. Friendly staff, although it was off-season so everything was a little slow."
