Loloata Island Resort

"Beautiful location and very peaceful compared to the city. Rooms are great. Well worth a bit of time on the island to chill out. Port Moresby doesn't have anywhere similar. Staff always friendly and helpful. Sometimes a little slow in replying to messages but otherwise they were great."

"There's nothing to dislike really. I would like to see some historical pics around the place, just to show the history there as some of us remember its humble beginnings and this would give the huge reception area a lithle more "soul"."

"Location was excellent. The island feels very safe and secure with a lovely walking track to get some exercise as well as an outdoor gym. Having diving onsite was a real bonus. The transfer and ferry were pretty easy (the transfer was a little late but got sorted in the end) The staff, particularly Paul and Beverly in the restaurant were easy to deal with and quite helpful. Pool and surrounds pretty decent too. The room was comfortable and pleasant to stay in."

"The breathtaking silence in the early mornings with birdsong and gentle lapping of the waves. It was incredible being so close to the capital city of PNG and yet having such amazing peace and quiet. The property was very beautifully laid out and has projects that were conservation conscious (like the rehabilitation of the mangroves growing on the island). I loved the walk round to the West Beach and then up the stairs to the walk from one end of the island to the other along the backbone narrow path stretching from the resort to the remote southern point. Wallabies and birds to be seen there aplenty. This place is absolutely delightful."

"The communication beforehand. Getting the property to plan how I would get from a hotel in the capital to the island ferry was a stressful experience and entirely unnecessary if only they had a person or team dedicated to communicating in unison with any inquiries coming in, rather than one person saying one thing and another saying the opposite. I was left an emotional mess at a time when I was being advised I needed to rest for my health. It was awful. And I lost the restful time planned in Port Moresby because the resort was sending mixed signals without confirmation. This needs to change. I spoke to the head managers and receptionist, but did not feel like I was fully heard. I hope that they work on this as I requested to them face to face, in person. If you are choosing this beautiful place with wonderful facilities, views, cleanliness and so much peace and tranquility, make sure if you are NOT staying in one of the hotels where they pick you up, that you have a written confirmation from someone in charge that they WILL indeed collect you from the point agreed between you and them. Loloata needs to upgrade their communications team processes with customer relations for me to give them the (almost there) FIVE STAR rating."

"Such a lovely getaway from the city. I visited with my husband and mum and we all had a great time. We went hiking, swimming and kayaking. It was so exciting."

"From arrival at Tahira Jetty and onto the island the staff were friendly and we had no problems with checking in. We had a room upgrade due to Oceanview Suite."

"The staff were amazingly attentive. So much so, that our booked accommodation was upgraded, which we absolutely loved. We loved the salt Sea spa, views, meals and enjoyed a lovely walk around the island."

"Our digicel TV needed to be turned on (had no idea where the console was), and the pillows were a little hard. Waitress staff were a little too attentive by wanting to clear our unfinished meals/drinks."
