"​Title: Great camp stay and hospitality, but skip the Bedouin tour ​I had a really good time staying at the Black Sand Camp, though the experience was a bit mixed. ​The Highlights: Everything at the camp itself was fantastic. The tents were comfortable, and both the dinner and breakfast were excellent. A special shoutout goes to the Nigerian manager—his behavior, hospitality, and helpfulness made the stay much better. The camel ride was also perfectly organized and a lot of fun."

"The Disappointment: Unfortunately, the Bedouin family tour was a big letdown. I paid 15 OMR expecting a deep, authentic experience where I could properly meet the families, explore the area, and get a genuine look into their daily lifestyle. That didn't happen at all. It lacked the cultural depth I was looking for, and honestly, it felt like a waste of 15 OMR."

"Sleeping in the desert is always a magical experience, and staying in the black sand domes made it even more unforgettable. Our stay was made even more memorable thanks to Lenin, a wonderful host and talented cook who took great care of us throughout our visit. His warmth, attention, and delicious meals added a very personal and welcoming touch to the entire experience"

"The only downside was the “Discover the Desert” excursion. It was one of the most expensive activities offered, and unfortunately the driver did not speak English, which made it difficult to learn or understand anything about the desert and its culture. The experience felt more like a simple car ride to a so called Bedouin house that now seems primarily set up for tourists to purchase souvenirs. It did not feel as authentic as we had hoped. For that reason, I would recommend choosing a different desert experience."

"A wonderful desert experience, this camp is worth choosing if you want a real desert experience. The host is very attentive and helpful, and the dinner and breakfast were excellent. The evening campfire, sunset, and sunrise will remain an eternal memory. There are many programs to choose from, but if you just want to get away from it all and be close to nature, this is still a good choice."

"Black Sands Camp is in the perfect location, away from all the other camps. It was quiet, peaceful and very calming. Lenin, our host, was excellent. He met us at the designated spot then we drove into the camp in our 4x4, which was not very far. We stayed in the dome, which was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The sand boarding down the dunes was extremely fun. We enjoyed a very beautiful sunset sitting on the picturesque dunes. We ordered dinner and breakfast, both which were well prepared, tasty and plentiful. The owner joined us in the evening for the bonfire and was full of interesting stories and information. We had a wonderful time here."

"There was no other camp around and we could enjoy a quiet evening in the middle of the desert. The host Salim was amazing and made us feel like home with a nice dinner and bonfire afterwards!"

"The choice of location - not too far from Bidiya but hidden amongst the dunes - provided the expected feeling of being surrounded by the desert. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the dinner in the dunes. The experience of having tea around the fire was unforgettable. Lenin was extremely helpful!"
