"Matuka Lodge is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for comfort, tranquility, and genuine hospitality. The lodge is beautifully set with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds and large windows that make the most of the scenery. Attention to detail is evident throughout, and everything feels well cared for and welcoming. The hosts were very warm and attentive and made us feel very welcome!!"
"Nothing we didn’t like"
"This is a little gem. The room, the communal space and the little extras (home made fruit cake, tea, coffee, fruit, biscuits all available to enjoy) were all perfect. What made it extra special were the team running the lodge. Guy and Jamie were not only excellent managers, they were wonderful hosts. On arrival Guy not only got us settled, he then advised us on dinner and going straight out to see Mt Cook as the weather the next day (when we had planned to go) was not good. The next day was a whole day of rain so decided to stay around the lodge to read, relax etc. Guy came over and checked we were OK and had everything we needed. Breakfast was freshly cooked, great continental too. Rooms clean, good view and comfy beds. Felt very relaxing, nice high spec, a bit of a home from home. Lovely"
