Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Wakatipu, Blanket Bay offers guests a relaxing hot tub and rooms with lovely lake views. Breakfast, dinner and Wi-Fi are included. Start your day with a delicious breakfast including bacon, eggs, muesli, cereals and freshly-made muffins. Changing daily, the tempting dinner menu can include roasted beef fillet and Thai carrot and coconut soup. Pre-dinner drinks are also included and range from fine New Zealand wines and spirits. Free bikes and kayaks are available for those seeking an adventure. In the evening, you can enjoy a game of billiards with friends or relax beside the warming fireplace. The front desk can arrange mountain bike tours, jet boating and Milford Sound tours. Blanket Bay Glenorchy is 3 minutes’ drive from the town centre. Queenstown is 35 minutes’ drive away and Wanaka is 90 minutes’ drive. All air-conditioned accommodation features an iPod dock, a flat-screen TV and a DVD player. Each has a private bathroom with a double vanity, a bathtub, slippers, and fluffy bathrobes. The suites boast a cosy fireplace.

"Beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, outstanding view of the mountains and lake Wakatipu. It’s a short 3 minute drive to Glenorchy town. You could walk but it is along a highway. If you get a chance, drive the extra 30 minutes to paradise and then another 20 minutes through the Ford’s and back country. JUST WOW"

"Das Haus ist sehr schön, aber sehr hellhörig. Man hört jeden Schritt auf dem Flur und die Geräusche im Nebenzimmer. Es wäre schön, wenn man zumindest die Türen besser dämmen würde. Morgens wird man leider häufig dadurch ungewollt früh geweckt und auch abends durch das Türknallen draussen aus dem Schlaf gerissen. Das Essen ist qualitativ exzellent, aber uns waren die Gänge nicht so gut aufeinander abgestimmt. Es fehlt ein bisschen was Frisches wie z.Bsp.ein Salat. Leider wie fast überall in Neuseeland zusätzliche Kreditkartengebühren. Das muss bei den Preisen nicht sein."
