In stone lodges on the edge of the Etendeka Plateau, rooms at Grootberg Lodge offer far-reaching views. With an outdoor pool, it is run by an organisation that aims to improve local welfare. The conservation organisation supports projects in the area, promotes the importance of wildlife tourism to locals, and provides jobs. Featuring a furnished, wooden terrace with panoramic views, each room at Grootberg Lodge has a thatched ceiling and African décor. The shower in the private bathroom overlooks the plateau. With large windows overlooking the plateau, the rustic punt de restauració has wooden furniture. There is a bar on site, and packed lunches are available. Possible trips include nature walks to search for elephant and rhino, meeting the Himba tribe in the native environment, and drives down the Klip River Valley, where animals go to drink. Hiking and horseriding are also available.

"The location is amazing. The view over the valley is a highlight of our trip. The way up to the property is a bit challenging, but was worth experiencing yourself. The staff was so friendly, they even gave a surprise singing performance. The food was a menu with local game, that was cooked straight on point. Compliments to the chef! Best game steak we had in Namibia!"

"The pool was cold, it was more a cold plunge! The rhino safari was very long + 10hours, it takes you 2 hours of driving before reaching the start of the game drive, and we didn’t see rhino.. it was also pricey for the experience in my opinion! Also the ride was extremely bumpy (not recommended for old people)"
