"This is a friendly, independently run hotel in a brilliant location. On arriving it might seem noisy outside but the buses and traffic disappear in the evenng and it was quiet enough. The location is opposite the street with most of the museums on it and good restaurants (much better than the central area which was very crowded in the evenings). There a few Oxxo stores within minutes and streetfood. Everywhere in the centre is walkable from here. The midnight curfew mentioned by others is only the closing of the front door, it's a knock to enter and wasn't an issue. I had room 303 which was large with a single and double bed and a balcony with an external view (not sure what others rooms are like)"
"The rooms are dated which isn't a problem but does mean there are few plug sockets and WiFi is quite poor (as it was in all of Guanajuato). The balcony doors needs a blackout curtain or blind on them to reduce heat and light on warmer days. It was cold in the evenings when I was there and a blanket would be welcome. There is no cleaning or entering rooms for stays of 5 days or less which seems to be happening across Mexico."

"Las camas muy duras, el área para bañarse es muy pequeña, hize una petición si podrían otorgarme una habitación con un pequeño balcón, pero solo me dieron una ventana hacia la calle! Para mi, estas noches fueron algo calurosas, siento que pudo haber estado muy bien por lo menos un ventilador de techo o uno pequeño de pedestal, ya que era un poco incómodo dormir así."

"I had a great time at Hotel San Jorge. The location for me was ideal, I specifically wanted to be in the historic center. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was giant, the view on the pedestrian zone cool. The value for money to me is absolutely great. I'd come back any time, in Tepic that would be my first choice."

"Hotel Zenith has a perfect location right near the big bus interchange as well as the main square with all the shops and restaurants. It was also very quiet and we slept well. The staff were lovely, and the service very professional as well as kind. It was spotlessly clean and felt very new, with everything working. The large bed with comfortable sheets and quilt, and tasteful decor made it feel very up-market. The coffee provisions in the room were appreciated. Breakfast was great with many different western and local choices each day alongside the cereals, fruit, fresh juice, yoghurt and bottomless coffee."
