The Max Villa

"Maxi and his wife ,not to mention their two sons were very cheerful - going out of their way to help - First class hosts. Our bedroom was large and comfortable . We should have stayed one night but we ended two and a half days due to world affairs in the Middle East"

"Walking distance to main attractions, eateries and beach in Negombo. Comfy big bed. Hot water for shower. Good WiFi. Peaceful (except for construction work 2 mornings out of 3). Sri Lankan breakfast incl in the rate. Possibility to have massage on site provided by the owner. Friendly staff."

"Bathroom needs a deep clean. The towel was worn-out and smelly. Would have been nice to have a smaller towel as well for hands and face. Drawers in the room had rubbish in them. The backyard could do with a bit of TLC as well."

"I booked a deluxe Queen room with air con for approx £19 inc breakfast. The air con worked well. There was a net around the bed. The room and bathroom were clean. I was slightly concerned about the noise as the room turned out to be on the ground floor but I didn't hear anything that could keep me awake. Breakfast was good. Max is very welcoming and friendly."

"My Uber driver found some difficulty locating the property entrance but there was a sign and we got there in the end."

"Max is a fantastic host! We felt super welcome upon arrival, even after 12 hours delay... we were able to just relax and recharge. The beds were very large and comfortable and there is enough space and furniture for your luggages and items in the room. The breakfast is very good and served with a big smile. Upon request, we also had some dinner, which was lovely. Max also helps arrange daytours and taxi's, if you'd need. Bonus for us was the possibility to arrange a massage of an hour, on the spot."

"Our room didn't have curtains or something to block the daylight, although the windows were narrow and high on tge walls. The bathroom door also lets daylight pass. If you're sensitive to daylight, I would recommend to bring something to cover the eyes."

"“We arrived as guests and left as friends" From the moment we arrived, we already felt at home, as if we were visiting friends. Max and his family are extremely warm and welcoming, and his children are approachable. One of us had a massage with Max and it was excellent, he is truly a very skilled massage therapist. Max took so much time to care for us. He personally took us to the fish market, helped us buy fresh fish, showed us around, and then his wife cooked a delicious dinner for us. The breakfast was delicious too. When I needed cash, he kindly volunteered to drive me on his motorbike  to the ATM. He also arranged our car to Kandy, making our journey very comfortable and stress-free. We highly recommend this homestay 100%. We would definitely love to come back. Thank you so much Max"

"Max is a great host, very friendly and helpful. Our flight was in the evening and Max let us not only to leave the luggage, but also take a shower after we checked out. :) The room was very spacious and the aircon was amazing (working so quaintly) best sleep we had during our visit in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was huge and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"Our stay at Max's guest house was simply exceptional! His house is very well located and very quiet. There are all the facilities in the room. But the best is the hospitality of Max and his family. He took us to the fish market, we bought the fish that he cooked for us that same evening, a real treat! We highly recommend this place to people who want a beautiful Sri Lankan experience.
