Thaala Bentota is located on the best beach strip along Sri Lanka’s western coastline. The property is 99 km from Bandaranaike International Airport and 66 km away from the city of Colombo. Designed by world-renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa, who took inspiration from an 18th-century Dutch village. The property has a contemporary feel and offers a tropical island beachside haven. "The location, the staff all very friendly and efficient, the two pools and garden area never felt crowded . Breakfast also wide choice available. Loft bar to watch the sunset and have a drink fabulous."

"The hotel was beautifully located near the amazing beach of Bentota. The facilities were excellent, with two large pools, and plenty of sunbeds. Although I understand the hotel to be at its full capacity it did not feel that way! The gardens and lounging areas were spacious. The food was excellent, with many choices. All of the staff were friendly and kind, their smiles were presented effortlessly!"

"The coffee was not up to the standard of a hotel of this quality. Water should be served with all meals. I reserved a superior room with sea view but the room I was given had a direct view on the pool and the sea was hidden by the trees. It would be better to describe these rooms as such rather than sell them as 'sea view'. The client then has the option of selecting another hotel."
"Great location close to restaurants and shops. Lovely buffet for breakfast and dinner. Friendly, helpful staff - special mention to Saman who created a very cute animal with towels every morning for us, it was lovely surprise to see what the next animal would be"
"The prices should show inclusive of taxes and charges so you know exactly what you’re paying! Only a few places show prices excluding the extra charges so it can be a shock that you’re paying more than what’s listed!"
