"The restaurant menu is quite limited. Needs more Laotian food. Champasak is a very small village so there are not a lot of eating options - especially in the lo season. More options at the hotel would make a big difference. Our laundry was returned wet."

"This is an actual excellent stay. You get a lot of hotels rated 10/10 and still not meeting the excellent standards. We loved everything about our stay at Residence Bassac. We stayed in the duplex room which was gorgeous and super comfortable. The downstairs had a nice desk, sofa, and toilet. Upstairs was great with very comfortable bed and really nice high quality bedding with access to nice balcony. Huge thanks to the cleaning staff who were remarkable! We don’t know your names but we are very grateful for your care and attention during our stay. THANK YOU! Also, the restaurant and front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Overall, we had a memorable stay and loved every second of it."

"The rooms are gorgeous and very well appointed, surrounding a lovely courtyard garden. The restaurant/ lounge area is very nice. They also have a dining/lounge area on the riverside, perfect for watching the sunrise. Staff were all exceptionally nice and helpful. The robes and slippers felt luxurious. Everything was in good taste. The included breakfast was pretty good, particularly the Laotian noodle soup. Mineral water was provided."

"The fruit selection for breakfast was surprisingly meagre (mango/watermelon) considering that one could see other fruit growing all around. And there was no fruit juice included. The mineral water provided came from Laos, which is great, but came in tiny plastic bottles, which seems like an awful lot of plastic. The shower did not drain properly, soaking up the bath mats and encouraging biting insects."
