"Walking distance to Lake Ashi where you can take the pirate ship cruise and view of Mt Fuji about 250m from the house! Great place for families. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster oven n stove. The hot spring in the bathroom was great for a super cold night. It's a pity we couldn't fully enjoy the house as we were rushing for time to complete our tour of Hakone."

"We were 4 persons, there was enough space for all of us. The house was clean and easy to access. Since it’s winter, it’s cold inside the house but there are a lot of blankets and AC to make up for it. There is a big parking area that is free. The bathroom has a small onsen, so it smells a bit like sulfur inside the house. We loved this accommodation."

"Whole house, spacious. Close to Lake Ashi and Hakone-machi-ko bus and Hakone Sightseeing Cruise ‘Pirate ship’ stop. Hot spring flowing through house via an always full, warm bathtub. So nice. Sleeping on Tatami mats/futons or double bed. Fully equipped kitchen. Washing machine (but no dryer). We were made to feel welcome when arriving in the evening in November by a warm, lit-up house, so thoughtful."

"The location is excellent. Right one minute to the Ashinoko lake. 5 -7 min walk to the Hakone Sekisho check point. House - home Thermal bath is the best ever."

"We had an amazing stay at this beautiful villa near the lake! The location is perfect — peaceful, scenic, and just a short walk to the water, 7 mins walk from the bus stop. The house was spotless, spacious, and had a very relaxing atmosphere. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we all had a great night’s sleep. The highlight was definitely the onsen bath — it’s a real natural hot spring and feels absolutely fantastic after a day of exploring. Everything was well-prepared and thoughtful. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!"

"The host is very kind, allow us to check in early so that we could tour around Hakone without worring about the luggage bags, The house is comfortable but only the master bedroom air-cond is working. The private hot spring is the bonus of the house"

"The location was absolutely amazing, just few steps away from lake Ashi. The Place is very spacious, clean with all the facilities and lots of them. Plenty of towles and extra mattress and sheets avaliable to use. The bath with natural hot spring was really enjoyable for us."

"Unfortunately, we were given the wrong code for the lock I'm not sure whose fault it was? ( host or booking.com) when we called the host first time there was language barriers and i had to hang up but i remember to use samsung call assist to translate for us and then we got the the right code for the lock box. Afterwards everything went smoothly and enjoyable."

"The house is adorable! Given the price, the home was much cuter (and bigger) than I had expected. It was easy to use the lockbox for the key upon arrival. There is a large lot with free overnight parking right down the street which was very helpful and convenient as we traveled by car. The same lot is a port for the Hakone sightseeing cruise, so the location of the house was excellent for boarding the ship! We liked the quaint little town, the spaciousness of the house, and the hot spring tub was excellent! Yes, it made the bathroom have a slight odor, but that is the scent of true hot spring water! So, we enjoyed it. The home (and the hot spring bath) exceeded my expectations."

"I wish the communication from the owner was a little more clear before arrival. Google Maps took us one street over from the house. It was not hard for me to get out of the car and do a little searching for the property, but we then got the car into a pretty tight situation since we thought there was parking in front of the house. Oops! If you have your own car, please do not try to navigate the tiny street to the front door to the house (unless you are used to driving on tiny roads in Japan). We also wish there was some communication about recommended places to eat. With a check in time at 3:00, it appears that many places were closing as early as 3:30! We were also unable to do the ropeway on our day of arrival even though we tried because we would not have been able to make the last boat trip back to port. We ended up finding one small decent restaurant that was still open for dinner and we then walked the 25 minute walk to the next port to grab some 711. But our next day was great! We were able to catch a morning boat trip to the ropeway without a problem. I wish we could've stayed in the region for some hikes, but we just had a one night stay. One more comment...we had to set up our own futons. As this was our first time in Japan, I was not entirely sure how to do this and had to use a YouTube video for it! And although it was low, my mom appreciated that the house also had a Western style bed."
