These posicionations are out of our hands, but we have protocols to report them to the electrical company as soon as they happen. To counteract the inconveniences that this may cause, we have a generator that is used in a rationed manner to ensure that the house has basic services until the electricity is restored. When we don't have electricity, no Wi-Fi, no hot water. Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments manager can assist- guests in arranging activities like lake tours, hiking, kayaking and paragliding. "I loved my stay here. The studio apartment had everything I needed, it was so peaceful and the view was everything!! The restaurant was a lovely spot and good value. The staff were great - Sissi and Fernando were really kind and helpful. It was a really easy stay."
"That I couldn’t stay longer"
"Can't beat the views! We had plenty of space in the Grand studio, with a comfortable bed, clean room and large balcony. Tucked away from town so very low key and quiet yet easy to haul a water taxi or hike 20min into Santa Cruz. The staff was really nice, we would definitely stay again!"
"We woke up to a blocked toilet leaking in our bathroom one morning, and had to message/alert staff a few times before someone finally came at the end of the afternoon. These things certainly happen and that's ok, but I would have expected a little more promptness in resolving the issue."
"Beautiful space, big clean room, good facilities."
"please note, there is not much around the area food/restaurants wise. Hotel has a limited mostly vegan menu options. Had a kitchen in my room so good alternative option. Would recommend bring some food with you."
"This was my favourite accomodation during the 3 weeks I spent in Guatemala. The views are spectacular, I did not want to leave the room. Bed is comfortable, shower is hot & consistent with good pressure, drinking water is provided in the room. There is a very beautiful, peaceful walk (25 minutes) along the shores to reach Santa Cruz village."
"I know that the property mean well & want to set the guest's expectations right but it was abit overwhelming to receive a long list of instructions & disclaimers. I got worried & shorten my stay from 3 nights to 2 nights after receiving the list. Regretted that decision as the property is amazing! The property was unable to assist with laundry when I was there & they were unable to provide any assistance or information on where to get laundry done. I eventually managed to get laundry done at Santa Cruz, there is a laundry shop near the pier. But the opening hours are not fixed, you will need to WhatsApp them to check."
"Everything!! So magical, incredible room, loved the bath with the view and relaxing on the sundeck/swimming in the lake Also the restaurant was great too! A very special place"
"Nothing :)))"
"One of our favourite places we’ve ever stayed. Such a great location, lovely staff and the place has everything you need. You can get the boats right from the pier to Panajachel or visit the other towns. We ended up only doing one day trip as we loved the place so much it was perfect for relaxing by the lake."
"Aucun."
"The lodge is only accessible by boat, we loved the tranquility and simplicity of its location away from the hustle and bustle. The room was large with a beautiful view over the lake and the volcanoes. Great spot for sunset and the restaurant food was delicious!"
"The stairs to the room were a little tough, but we were warned in advance."
"Magical place, absolutely beautiful location and scenery. Super easy walk to Santa Cruz (20 mins) along the lake. Our apartment was huge and amazing, couldn’t fault it. We ate at the restaurant on site one night but used the facilities to cook which had everything you could need. Free tea and coffee provided which was great."
"Not a huge issue, but no real supermarket near so recommend buying food before arriving, even in Santa Cruz you can only get a handful of stuff. The restaurant was very tasty but a bit overpriced in our opinion"
"We had the studio which was great and the price point was ridiculous, only $60. Loved the view, the hot tub, the staff, the food. Highly recommended."

"I’ve stayed in more than 100 hotels in my travel life so far. From dingy to 5 star resorts and this is the best place I’ve ever stayed. The privacy, aesthetics and tranquility of the sunset lodge is unmatched. I stayed in grand apartment 1. The view was unbelievable and the free standing bath (which I used during a tropical storm) was absolutely fantastic."
"Hard to think of anything - food in the restaurant could be better, it would really make it not necessary to leave at all!"

"The room and the whole atmosphere/service felt more like a classical hotel than a hostel, so the price was more than fair. The staff are extremely engaged in making their guests feel comfortable and they even organized fresh glutenfree bread for breakfast. The location is a little off in Zona 10, but everything needed is within reach by foot and/or taxi."

"Breakfast was good. But, the coffee part was confusing. Some breakfasts came with it, some not. And, if you ordered coffee before breakfast you had to pay for it separately even if your breakfast included it! Something about slightly different size cups. Just, include coffee. Don’t charge for a refill. It’s being cheap."

"Slow travel hits different, unplanned, I immersed myself in the culture, people and atmosphere of a special place called Finca Tatin, deep in the jungle, an hour lancha boat ride from Rio Dulce City. We also chugged downriver through the picturesque El Cañón del Río Dulce to Livingston, passing lodges, schools, private houses, pelican and cormoran colonies and shipwrecks, to arrive to this small, ramshackle town, on Guatemala’s Caribbean coast, at the mouth of the river, where no roads leads to it. There is poverty everywhere, and life can clearly be challenging, but there is this relaxed, Caribbean vibe and friendly and welcoming people, a haven for people fleeing oppression: especially the Garifuna and the Q’echi Maya."
