A former coaching inn in the Forest of Bowland, The Spread Eagle in Sawley provides luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation in Lancashire’s picturesque Ribble Valley. With a cosy bar and taula gastronòmica and attractive garden, it offers free Wi-Fi and parking to guests. Each elegantly designed room at The Spread Eagle features individual furnishings, and some enjoy views of the nearby River Ribble. Five miles outside Clitheroe, The Spread Eagle is 30 minutes’ drive from Blackburn. Around 11 miles south of the Yorkshire Dales, Preston and Burnley are both 25-35 minutes’ drive.

"We stayed in Room 3 It was HUGE Massive very comfortable bed , plus a very large living area We had two windows, one overlooking the river Ribble , which was right outside. The food was very good also. Pendle Hill not far away for amazing walks with stunning views."
"Sometimes it was very difficult to find an area , just to sit down in the bar area for a drink only. But it was a bank holiday weekend. A very busy pub."

"Lovely pub. The room was lovely. Lovely and clean and very tastefully decorated. Location absolutely gorgeous. Lovely breakfast. We didn’t eat in the restaurant although I’m sure this is great too."
"The room we were in room 7, was a bit noisy. And you couldn’t open the window for air whilst the chefs were cooking due to food smells coming into the bedroom. So it felt a bit claustrophobic/stuffy due to this- I like to be able to have fresh air. There is an air con unit although is not too efficient. I would stay again although perhaps not this room- only due to not being able to open the window."
