"Location is good, close to the beach. The locals were swimming at high tide and having picnics in the late evening. You can walk along the beach at low tide to Andernos pier with shops and restaurants c 30mins. ( quicker in the car) Good base for the Arcachon Basin. Spacious bedroom, host lives next door."

"This was a fabulous grand property with acres of living space and a lovely well maintained garden/grounds and a good looking swimming pool which we didn't use because the weather wasn't hot enough. It was good that every bedroom had access to its own bathroom and toilet. Secure parking for our 3 cars and could have squeezed in a fourth. We were able to easily walk into central Aix."

"Sophie was a wonderful host who welcomed us into her home for three nights. We had a car and each day would go off to explore the surrounding villages and towns she recommended to us. Her suggestions for places to have dinner were very much appreciated and the food always delicious. As Australians, we love to travel and experience daily life as the local residents do. We were able to do this while staying at this property and would come back at day’s end to share our stories with Sophie - much laughter and interesting conversation would unfold. Sophie cooked us a delicious meal with local wine for our final evening. We can’t recommend L’Echappee Belle highly enough!"
