Le Barbès

"The property is located slightly uphill from the canal and port part of town, but only a ten minute walk to the restaurants and bars there, via a short foot tunnel under the rail, from Rue Barbes. Although located on a somewhat busy street the property is situated at the back of number 14, and is exceptionally quiet and tranquil. There is parking right across the road in a free car park. We were met at an unlocked gate by two big sweet friendly dogs who belonged to a neighbour. You then walk into a court yard and take the steps up to the apartment in the middle. There is the key box. There is a second flight of steps inside. The apartment is spacious, clean and well equiped. You will find bed linen in a closet in the main bedroom (the bed was made up only with a bottom sheet, or mattress protector). The bathroom is spacious and well equiped. There were also many toys and a cot and a high chair for children 🧸 There is a bench to sit in the sun outside your entrance door."

"Comfy place with easy parking and not far from various eateries. The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and the living/dining area was confy and spacious. Games and books for kids were available and the beds were comfortable. We would repeat our stay, good quality-price."

"No AC, being an attic you could feel the heat. But the fans across the whole property did the job quite okay, we didn't have any issues to sleep!"

"L'hôte a été accueillant et efficace. L'appartement est grand et fonctionnel. Sans auxu e mauvaise surprise. Vraiment rien à redire."

"Logement spacieux, confortable, très propre, bien équipé. Nuit calme dans des lits confortables et des pièces bien chauffées. Équipement parfait. Merci pour les draps et le linge de toilette. Excellente communication avec la propriétaire et la personne voisine qui entretient le logement et veille à l'accueil des voyageurs. Parking gratuit de l'autre côté de la rue."

"Il y a 2 grandes volées d' escalier plutôt raides avec des marches étroites à monter avant d accéder au logement. A savoir pour les enfants, les personnes âgées ou peu sûres, avec bagages etc... vu l'espace disponible, un WC séparé de la salle de bain aurait été appréciable. Nous n'avons pas occupé le logement en journée mais il doit être peu lumineux (beaucoup de fenêtres en second jour)."
