"I was delighted to find this beautiful small hotel as I drove through France. Everything was perfect: the hotel was easy to find, parking was easy and cheap, the grounds were beautiful, and the couple managing the hotel were very friendly and attentive. The hotel has recently been renovated and it combines comfort with great style and attention to detail. The rooms are decorated and furnished in French fin de siècle style; it really is a most atmospheric place. As an additional feature, Saint-Gérand-le-Puy is where James Joyce spent the last year of his life and there is a small Joyce museum (closed during my visit, alas). To summarize: this was a great find! I will definitely stay again if I am in the area."

"Très beau manoir tenu, décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Les hôtes sont aux petits soins et arrangeants, nous ont préparé un Petit déjeuner à emporter car nous devions partir à 5h30 du matin. Le jardin est magnifique et immense, situé au calme en dehors du village. La salle de bain est grande et il y a tout ce qu'il faut (serviettes, gants de toilette, peignoir, shampooing, gels douche, savons, cotons tiges, ...). De plus des bouteilles d'eau étaient à notre disposition dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner est copieux."

"La vue est magnifique, on a même pu voir le feu d'artifices depuis le balcon. Déjeuner sur le balcon couvert est un luxe incomparable. L'appartement est lumineux, très bien agencé et cosy, on s'y sent bien. Merci pour les gentilles attentions , une vraie fleur dans un petit vase, des bonbons dans une bonbonnière, des biscuits entre autres."

"Nice little apartement in the city center of Verdun. We used it for a stopover night. Parking in front of the door, no problem at the weekend. 15 minutes rides to the historic sites around Verdun. Shops and restaurants very close. The apartement was very clean, good and very friendly communication by the landlords. We liked it and would come back here again."

"Beautifully presented and spacious apartment. Lovely historical town and great location close to train station (right outside front door- straight to Paris if you don’t mind being on the outskirts of the city). Small supermarket close by was helpful. Church bells sounding from the church next door each evening!"
