"My family and I stayed at Chateau Melay for one night during our journey back to Amsterdam and I wish we had stayed longer. Our stay felt more like visiting a family friend’s home than a hotel. There were so many little things that were very thoughtful. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly at the door by Thomas and shown around. They offer a 3 course menu which sounded really nice after a long day of driving. So glad we did because the meal prepared was very delicious and filling not to mention the dinner was beautifully set up outside on a communal table and our baby got to join in on the fun (they have high chairs available). The property has a nice size backyard with toys for the kids and plenty of lounge seating for adults (also saw a kiddie pool and bounce house). Overall, the place feels very relaxing, warm and child friendly. Could not recommend this place enough."

"Hosts Thomas and Pauline were very welcoming and helpful We had dinner and the food was wonderful. Loved that Thomas used local produce. He also worked very well with my dietary requirements. Couldn’t fault the room and we loved the decor. Would definitely go back when next in that area"

"We stayed at Chateau Melay as a stop off on the way to the Alps and had an excellent stay. The welcome was lovely and the room was very nice. Our daughters enjoyed playing in the wooden play area. The food was excellent and the wines available were great. We were really pleased we found this place and felt it was much more than just a stop over, it was very relaxing. We felt it was very good value for money."

"Extemely warm welcome from the owners Thomas and Pauline and their son Otis and wow what a lovely place to stay. This is a glorious old building in the centre of Melay and we had a suite on the first floor which was enormous and very comfortable. Thomas and Pauline took this on several years ago and their style will make it a very sucessful hotel as, unlike larger hotels, this has a very personal touch. Thomas cooked us a lovely 3 course evening meal and had wines from the local vineyard to buy and take away which were excellent. It's extremely quiet and with the very comfortable bed we slept very well on the one night en route to Italy. I would highy recommend Chateau Melay especially if you prefer a more personal experience."

"Very nice welcome of the owners. We wanted to participate at the dinner which starts 19:00 due to heavy traffic we only arrived around 10:00 and still got a lovely meal and very good wine. The property has an electric car charging point too!"

"Thomas was the perfect host in his beautifully restored chateau. We had the deluxe family suite with 2 large bedrooms and a lovely bathroom. So comfortable. Set in a small quiet village surrounded by beautiful countryside. The dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. Easy parking right in front of the chateau."
