"Barb and Kevin went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a 6 months baby with us and they even supplied and baby bath, changing mat and high chair. It’s a little oasis and we’ll definitely be coming back!"

"We have just had the best week at this absolutely fantastic gite. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, like a home from home where we could completely relax and unwind in comfort and style. There is an amazing pool, in the most idyllic surroundings (within the ruins of the old Cognac distillery... what could be better when visiting Cognac!). There are 3 beautiful, peaceful gardens that are fully enclosed, allowing children to run free, pick the fruit, and play with a fabulous selection of garden games. The covered BBQ area and traditional pizza oven were super. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket, and a wonderful selection of fresh pastries were delivered to our door each morning, such a treat! This magical place offers the perfect mix of traditional French charm and modern luxury. Last but by no means least, the owners Barb and Kevin were the best, so incredibly kind and accommodating. We can't wait to come back!"

"Barb & Kev where do we start? From the moment you opened the big double gates to closing when we left it was perfect. The cool beer while i waited for mine to chill, to the guide of the gite and detail of the history. The comfortable beds and outstanding surroundings. Move onto pool and gardens immaculate. The local tips and locations to see and go to were without fault. You could not have been more welcoming and the peace and tranquility in the mornings cant be matched. Not if we come back but when cant come soon enough. ps Barb the bag save on the wedding day Linda says thanks your a star. cant wait to see yous again, cant come soon enough Andy, Linda, Owen & Jess"

"We stayed in many beautiful holiday homes over the years, but this gîte truly stands out as the most complete we've ever experienced: the property has absolutely everything you could possibly need and more! From the fantastic swimming pool and a fully equipped gym to a football field and pétanque court, there was no shortage of activities to keep our family entertained! A real highlight was the wonderful hospitality of Kev and Barb: their warm welcome made us feel right at home, and the daily delivery of fresh croissants was such a lovely touch! The surrounding area is also fantastic for cycling, and we especially appreciated the route (between the Cognac vineyards!) Kev mapped out for our sporty kids – it was perfect for them😉 Overall, our stay was absolutely fantastic!"

"I cannot recommend 1854 Chassors highly enough. The place is situated in the absolute perfect location, surrounded by beautiful landscape, and a short drive away from exciting cities and the seaside. I have never stayed in accommodation so well equipped, everything you could wish for is provided - we were even offered umbrellas on a rainy day! The beds are incredibly comfortable and the gite was perfect in every way, creating the ideal escape with the pool and grounds! Barb and Kevin are so incredibly kind, welcoming and insightful for the area, recommending brilliant places to explore and are always there for any questions you may have throughout your stay. They made the place feel like a home away from home, absolute paradise!"

"Could not recommend this gite more. Everything was taken care of. Outstanding place for travelling with kids (a baby and a toddler). It's all in the details: a baby cot, changing pillow, chair, baby bath, even potty were available. Also loads of floating stuff for in the pool available and a great big garden with walls for our toddler to safely run around. We enjoyed it very much! O and not to forget: warm pastry delivered to our gite every morning, great beds, sonos speakerbox !!!"

"D’abord l’accueil des hôtes simple, chaleureux et sincère. Puis le gîte lui même, sa décoration soignée, ses équipements et ses possibilités d’activités ( pétanque, piscine, fléchettes,etc..). Enfin sa localisation qui assure une quiétude totale et la proximité de centres d’intérêts ( Jarnac, la Charente et de jolies randonnées pour les amateurs). Bref , un régal."
