Scandic Patria is 400 metres from the 17th-century Lappeenranta Fortress and 2 km from Lappeenranta Train Station. The rooms have a 32-inch TV. Gym and sauna access is free. Some of Patria’s rooms have a balcony offering views of Lake Saimaa or Pusupuisto Park. The Torilla Cuina D'autor serves a popular breakfast buffet and a varied à la carte menu. Guests can enjoy an after-dinner drink at the late-night bar. Patria’s relax department has a sauna and hot tub, and Nordic walking poles and bicycles can be borrowed from reception. Other facilities include a shop and a children’s playroom. Scandic Patria offers both indoor and outdoor parking. "Location, staff, cleanliness & facilities were all great! The room had a nice balcony and was dark enough. Nowadays the breakfasts have actual change with far more plant-based & options, not just leaflets on tables advertising as in the past, but real food option changes with it."
"As with many Scandic hotels, the air conditioning unit was a noisy hum all theough the night which could not be switched off. I also tire of the 'bath or shower' option on this site, playing roulette as to whether I can have a room suiting my wishes until I'm at the hotel. In this case my preference of a bath tub was unfulfilled. The either-or option is a cop-out annoyance & I won't be choosing such hotels in future with this."

"Great stuff and presentation. Upon checking the room was found to be not cleaned. It was late at night and dinner was already ordered prior to going to the room. Once staff was advise of the situation be rectified it by placing me in another room the very next day, which was an upgrade to a suite plus that same evening they gave me the opportunity of having dinner on the house, I’d like to thank Victoria, who was a great help and great professionalism was displayed by her"
