"Biggest down side was breakfast 🙃, to dimple, plain , nothing to choose from! Soft drinks are from machine…. With such good restaurant - breakfast- they need to improve! Old castle rooms, need tune up, our room had windows to hotel corridors… and lights were turn on from 7 am 🫣"

"We enjoyed a lovely spa holiday at Castle Spa Wagenküll, located in a beautiful historic castle combined with a modern spa. The hotel was truly impressive – the rooms were spacious and tastefully matched the castle’s interior, creating a slightly historic yet comfortably elegant atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous and delicious selection."

"A small downside was the pillows, which felt worn out and too small. We had booked the rooms six months in advance, as well as a table at the restaurant, requesting a quiet spot for our small group. Unfortunately, this wish was not fulfilled – we were seated at small tables near the service walkways, which did not make conversation very easy. Our room, located at the end of the corridor, seemed quiet at first, but in the early morning the cleaning activities in the spa and the sound of moving items carried into the room, disturbing the peace."

"We had some issues with the hot and cold water. But it did not bother us. What brings down the total score is the restaurant experience! I even told to the waitress that it has been a very long time i had such a bad service. Lets start from the beginning - we had a reservation, when we arrived our table was dirty and when i asked if we could sit to another table, there were a lot of free, i was told they were reserved! But we also made a reservation, didnt we? We were seater close to the open kitchen and the room was full of smoke and after leaving our clothes smell like we had working in the kitchen. We ordered drinks and water. The water did not arrived. We had to ask again for it. Other tables around us got bread while they waited for food. Our bread was brought to the table with the main course. The main course, i ordered duck but received pork. She apologized for a mistake but did not offer anything to make the situation better while my boyfriend was eating. I ordered another glass of cava but it did not arrived. I had to ask again. Finally my food arrived. Our waitress never asked how was our food or if everything is ok. She was running around and we had to raise our hand to get any service at all!! Finally we asked the bill, it arrived with wrong food item on it and after receiving a correct bill i asked her if she does not think that it is appropriate to make us a little discount she said she has no authority to do it! But a good waitress should have thought about it before presenting a bill that maybe she could have made something to make this night ( my birthday) somehow more enjoyable. But no. So yes, very dissapointed. Not worth the visit on our experience!"

"The rooms in the other building (not the castle) are very nice – new, clean, and they smell great. I’ve stayed in the castle before, and now I know I’ll always choose the other building in the future. The castle feels damp and musty, with a slightly unpleasant smell – and honestly, it’s a bit creepy too 😄 The spa is fantastic – a wide selection of saunas, and we made great use of the bar. The outdoor pool is super warm and really pleasant. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious – we had dinner there twice. Also, the breakfast was very nice! The Alice in Wonderland park was also a lot of fun – we went for walks and took photos there several times. We found plenty to do on the hotel grounds for two full days and never once felt bored. We were also very happy with the spa treatments – especially the rowanberry massage, which was a highlight for all of us."

"Unfortunately, the service was far below expectations. At the pool bar, the staff were glued to their phones and didn’t notice us at all. There was also a lot of confusion with our spa bookings. The booking system is very unclear – you can send an email, fill out a form on the website, and now there’s also a separate booking system that just appeared. At first, we were told there were no available times, then suddenly there were, then they said they hadn’t received our message, and so on… it was incredibly frustrating. I strongly suggest the hotel choose one single system and make it flawless to avoid confusion in the future. Also, the hotel room was WAY too hot when we arrived – even though the weather outside wasn’t particularly warm. The floor heating was turned up to the maximum for no reason, which really isn’t necessary and just wastes electricity :)"

"Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Even though it was a bit off season, and there were still a few areas under construction in the yard, the overall experience was great. The highlight for me was the spa, which offered a fantastic variety of options, especially enjoyed the outdoor pool — it was just perfect! The breakfast was another standout, with a wide range of delicious choices."
