"The cabaña is great with large glass walls to enjoy the scenic view. High standard if we compare it with others. We were provided with plenty of fire wood. But due to the thick blankets we did not experienced any cold. The garden has much to see and they even have their own trail up the mountain. Oscar and his family are the most friendly ecuatorian people we have met. Uncle Luis drove us around and helped us to find birds and mammals. The traditional cooking was great and prepared by Oscars mother. You can try trout or guinea pig that live on the property as well. Food is served in the cabaña and we were even provided with a lunchbox during our hikes. If we needed anything the family arranged it instantly. Oscars mother is a friendly and happy lady that made us laugh, although we did not understand all she said. Defintely go there and dont forget to walk the sendero del oso (beartrail) to find spectacled bear !!"

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Lodge. It was a bit hard to find but once I got there I was greeted warmly by the host and shown to my hut. The dinner they cooked for me was delicious and I really enjoyed our chat at the fire. I still miss the little chick that conquered my shoulder. The fluffy ball remained seated there the whole evening cuddled into my neck :) The hut itself was very cosy and I loved the fireplace ( which was necessary as the nights were very cold when I stayed there in August ). The Wifi-connection depends on the weather and is not the best but, again, the lodge is located in a valley in a rural area and the huts are further up the mountain so it is to be expected. Bring a Kindle or simply enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. You might even get some nice captures of the Wildlife if you are patient."

"Quinde Ñan is a beautiful little finca with a small trail for birdwatching and some hummingbird feeders. We were pretty impressed with the bird list and it is conveniently located for trips to Cayambe-Cocha. For the bird nerds: we saw a family group of Tufted Tit Tyrant right in the yard! I loved all the little bunnies hopping around in the yard, and the family was very friendly and talked to us even though we are not fluent in Spanish."

"The room had a fireplace that must be lit at night to keep the room warm. Perhaps in future a space heater could be offered as a substitute, in case guests can’t handle the woodsmoke."

"The people here are so nice and helpful, breakfast was great and Oscar took a lot of time to show me around, he even went for a hike with me and didn't want to get paid for it. He knows so much about the area, as some of it belongs to his family and it was really interesting talking with him. The hummingbirds were the best for me! the hut was very cozy - at least once the fire was lit."

"Rustic accommodation in a beautiful setting. Very impressed by Oscar and his family's knowledge of the flora and fauna and their plans for a bioethical tourist site. Had a fun time fishing; Elvi, Kelly and Jasmine were so patient. I definitely hope to visit again. It was a good start for my 2025 spiritual renewal and fitness journey!!"

"This place is so special. Oscar and his mum looked after us so so well - cooking us amazing trout dinner when we arrived late. So delicious we ate with them the second night, too. Oscar helped us decide what to do with our spare day with great suggestions. The lodge itself is wonderfully cozy with a fire. We had a hire car so made getting there very easy but the buses pass right next to it so that is possible too."

"Von der Hauptstraße aus schlecht zu erkennen. Im kleinen Raum- welches als Restaurant bezeichnet wird- war es relativ kalt und es war sehr einfach ausgestattet."

Jantamos e almoçamos trutas frescas criadas no seu pesqueiro. Ótima localização para quem quer passar o dia nas Termas de Papallacta e dormir tranquilo e acordar com os pássaros cantando."

"Petit déjeuner trés génereux ,proprietaire trés gentil qui n'on pas hésiter a nous faire un petit feu de cheminée, car région assez froide mais trés jolie, donc bonne immersion avec des locaux.une premiere pour nous avec une nuit a 3700 m d'altitude,nous avons fait que les thermes de papallacta a 7 km mais apparament il y a de belle randonées a faire a proximitée avec possibilitée de voir l'ours a lunettes."

"The owners are very sweet and helpful. Their son (offsite) speaks English and spoke with us. It is a working Ecuadorian farm. We chose the room that was up many steps and was full of windows. The bed was wonderful!! Enjoyed the fireplace that was made for us that evening. Delicious Breakfast was brought up all the way to our cabin. We found the path into the short forest hike. We saw rabbits and sheep, chickens, horses and a couple of dogs."

"When we arrived, we didn’t see the cabins in the photos as they were up the hill. It is very rustic! The owners came and took us up the path to our choice of cabins. It was chilly in the morning without a fire."
