"The View is a boutique hotel set high on a cliff, just north of São Filipe. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town, it is a wonderful place to stay as your base for exploring Fogo Island. It was built as a home, a mansion, really, but the owner decided to turn it into a hotel. The finishings are top-notch. The definite highlight for us was the kindness of Waldo, the manager of the property. He couldn’t do enough for us. His offers of assistance were genuine. We had decided not to drive up to the crater in our rental car because we thought the drive would be too difficult. But he shared details with us about the route, and in the end, we felt confident enough to tackle it, thanks to him. It turned out to be the highlight of our entire vacation to Cabo Verde. He has a gift for hospitality and his care of your stay will add a lot to your experience."

"Nothing comes to mine. Please note, however, that you would be well served to have a rental car. If you choose to stay there, just because it is outside the town. But you could always use taxis to go back-and-forth."

"Accueil extraordinaire de Valdo le gérant d'une gentillesse à toute épreuve. Location de voiture en parfait état sur place. L'hôtel se situe à 7 minutes en voiture de Sao Filipe et domine l'océan. Personnel très attentif et efficace. Valdo peut organiser très rapidement l'excursion guidée au sommet du volcan.Les chambres de l'hôtel sont récentes grandes et très agréables.2 jours à Fogo suffisent le voyage vaut véritablement kle déplacement."

"Las instalaciones están muy bien y las habitaciones son espaciosas. Lo mejor del hotel es el personal. Muy amable.Siempre pendientes de nosotros."

"Las habitaciones precisan de estanterías o armario y caja fuerte El desayuno es escaso y siempre los mismos ingredientes. Estuvimos 6 noches y no varió absolutamente nada en todos los días de nuestra estancia. En recepción no tienen ninguna información sobre la isla, ni de los restaurantes, que ver, mapa….. e incluso desconocen el horario de los barcos. La piscina precisa de una pintura"

"Das Hotel liegt wie ein Adlerhorst an der Steilküste, aber etwas Abseits von Sao Filipe der Hauptstadt von Fogo. Die Lage ist auch bei Nichtvorhandensein eines Mietautos kein Hindernis.Durch die nahe Lage zum Hafen fahren werktags viele preisgünstige Taxen (ca.4€) die Strecke Hautstadt-Fährhafen. Traumhaft war unser Apartment, welches wir ohne Aufpreis erhielten, da im Haupthaus Bauarbeiten durchgeführt wurden. Der Pool wurde täglich gereinigt, so aber auch die Freiflächen und natürlich auch das Apartment. Sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit sind die Mitarbeiter des Hotels und auch der Manager. Essen einfach super, Preis-Leistung stimmt Auf unser 4 wöchigen Rundfahrt waren wir in 7 Hotels, dieses war das Beste."
