"The initial atmosphere and ambiance was welcoming and beautiful. We were greeted by Dorell at the front desk and he was incredibly helpful and kind. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The dining/bar and pool area was perfect. Our room was clean and welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the flower petals left on our bed. Room service daily was great! Staff was accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Food and drinks were great. I recommend the Mexican cocktail, its delicious. Hotel offers complimentary paddle boards and kayaks. We used to Kayaks and it was amazing. This hotel offers the perfect balance of relaxation and luxury."

"We stayed at the hotel in the off season and there were not many people staying, so the hotel restaurant was not open for the first night of our stay. However, the hotel helped us find a small restaurant close by that served delicious jerk chicken. The second day of our stay the restaurant opened. The hotel staff were very friendly and dealt with our concerns promptly. For example we wanted a mini fridge, so they brought one in. Our security box was locked, so they opened it. San Pedro has become very noisy because of the hundreds of golf carts that drive around it. I appreciated that Mata Rocks was located further out from central San Pedro and was quiet. A huge bonus for me is the free bicycles that Mata Rocks allows its guests to borrow."

"Swimming is off a dock as the water close to shore has a lot of seaweed. The hotel pool is seawater and is not big enough to swim in. But, it is great for having a dip and cool off."

"The resort was great. It's is a nice intimate place where you can actually get to know your neighbors. The staff all worked really hard to make you feel welcome. They picked us up from the boat shuttle which was a great surprise and we were greeted with a welcome drink. They also helped us a rent a golf cart (which is a must). The views are pretty. Note there is not an area to swim but the hotel is in a great location. Also there is a nice bar at the hotel where we had some of the best salsa and chips. The hotel also offers bikes, board games and has a pickle bar court."

"The hotel is very well located. It's very quier, in front of the ocean and easy to acces to other places and other restaurants. The bedrooms are basics but very clean and organized. The bar is goog, however, the restaurant doesn't have a good service. We sat for 20 minutes at a dirty table, full of dishes, and nobody came to serve us or offer us the menu. The pool is very small, but is one of the best in the area. I totally recommend this hotel. They just need to impotence the service in the restaurant to be better."

"I stayed at this resort for 10 days, solo traveling. The staff were hyper accommodating, kind and helpful. Javi is the man - he runs the bar, works his butt off and is always a welcomed smile to start or end your day. The manager was helpful when I asked change rooms and book an extra night. Cleaning staff did a great job. There are a lot of locals that visit the bar as a watering hole at night you can tell them and the staff are like family. On Christmas day I arrived in my room to a little packet of cookies and treats - so thoughtful and kind. This is anything but a cold corporate chain. If you dive this is the PERFECT spot to stay at, its a 7 minute walk on the 'beach' to Belize Pro Dive Center (Which is at the dock at the Alia hotel). Super convenient. Free breakfast and coffee was also great every morning."

"The rooms on the base floor have no privacy from passerbys at the pool or bar level (which forces you to close the curtains at all times). It can feel claustrophobic and luckily the manager was able to move me to an upper floor for a couple days which had a beautiful patio. He is looking into some creative solutions. Recommend only booking upper floors - nicer bathrooms too. Also bear in mind - beach access is not what you think it is; the island is doing construction so the 'beach' access is a concrete/sanded embarcadero but this is typical to most of San Pedro. I didnt come across a single sandy beach other than at Secret Beach (which still isnt typical sandy access, and is a 45 min away golf cart ride)."

"Room 15–Very small for 2 guests comfortably. The curtains and wall hanging looked like they needed either cleaned or replaced. Pool wasn’t very clean, no fault of the pool keeper. He didn’t seem to have proper equipment. Our BIGGEST dislike was the local pickleball players who met every day at 8am like clock work. Paying guests should not have to endure the noise!"
