Mababe River Campsite

"Great location in Mababe for an overnight stay between Maun and Savuti. Great pool and very nice bar. The accommodation was very clean and just good."

"The campsite was spacious with private bathroom/shower/wash-up unit, all clean. We could also use the nice pool / restaurant and bar area. We used the restaurant one night and the food / service was really good. We loved that the camp is not fenced and animals can move around. These seem to be used to campers and we had elephants eating at a bush right next to us. An hyena walked passed us a few meters away, while having dinner. You just have to keep calm and enjoy."

"The bins on the campsite are not secured for animals, so hyena's are coming in the night to tip them noisily over and eat what they find. The owners should change this or I'd recommend not to use them and put rubbish in bin liner inside your car. We had not been advised to book any tours in advance and it was booked out. We had to arrange it ourselves which was fine in the end. Would recommend to book in advance of your stay."

"This place is super amazing. We stayed in the lovely campsite which is open to the bush. Hippos and other animals roam there at night. Each campsite is very private and spacious. The private bathroom and washing up area is very spacious and well built. Right next door is Mabbe River Lodge, one of he most gorgeous lodges I've seen. All very natural and wild. Only 7kms from Chobe park gate and Kwai is not far. Some nice local game drives too. Stunning place"

"Camping at #8 !! Wild animals in your camp. The feeling of being in raw nature. Buffalos 10m from our camp fire.....then we very quickly got into our roof top tent. Hyenas under our roof top tent. The owner Thys is super informative and the camp crew very helpful. Best pool ever!! We will certainly be back."
