"The flat is gorgeous, the location could not be better: super quiet and yet 5 mins walk from one of the top 2 beaches on the island, Payne's Bay. The welcome of Rochelle from the moment you book, her lovely dad is the same, welcoming and friendly people. It really is an amazing place. Look no further. My friend and I are very picky and demanding and we found the place was beyond our expectations: the flat was airy, big confortable, terasse is lovely, a peaceful place in a tastefully decorated place. The help provided by Rochelle once on site was amazing, she went the extra mile. This is a great family run place, we are so grateful we chose Shades. Genuine value for money with the added bonus of warm hosts."

"Just that shops to by groceries were not within walking distance, but this is well compensated by the amazing beach that is so accessible, and there is a petrol station for emergency grocery shopping"

"Our stay at Shades was great. We have two small children and Rochelle went above and beyond to help us have a comfortable stay with everything we needed. The apartment was really big and had everything we needed, it was super quiet and we usually had the pool to ourselves. Beautiful beach just down the road with turtles swimming in the water."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Shades! The apartment was a nice size and well appointed. The property is well maintained and has a lovely, private oasis feeling. We loved hearing various birds and seeing monkeys pass by daily. The location was great-4 min walk to the beach, a short walk to some good restaurants and a short bus/taxi ride to several more. The host, Rochelle, and her family made us feel very much at home. She was very responsive and gave us great tips for where to visit and where to eat as well as arranged taxis for us. We would definitely book Shades again!"

"The property is set in a beautiful plot and our generous balcony overlooked the grounds and swimming pool, featuring luscious palms and Traveller's trees - simply stunning. The local beach - Paynes Bay was a 4 minute stroll from the apartment and was just amazing. Rochelle was a super host - extremely helpful and arranged taxis (at a special rate) for our various trips around the island and for our transport from and back to the airport. She met and welcomed us to Shades on our arrival, walked with us to our apartment and gave us a very comprehensive introduction, to both the property and location/general area, following up with a detailed post on WhatsApp - all fantastic. For local trips, including to Jordan's and Massey's supermarkets, we took the local yellow busses which were plentiful and convenient. This was our first trip to Barbados and Shades was the perfect introduction to the island."

"The apartment was perfect for us, very clean and spacious. The gardens were beautifully kept with various birds and monkeys passing through. The pool, gym and relaxation areas were all great too. Paynes Bay is just at the end of the road which is a really lovely beach. We would definitely stay here again. The hosts were very helpful and always on hand and f needed."

"Loved how the accommodation was our own little villa. With an equipped kitchen and very private. Easy 2km walk (30 minute walk) to the centre of Holetown (or a BBD$30 /US$15 taxi ride)."

"No complimentary condiments in the bathroom so you need to bring your own. No daily fresh towels (but probably could have asked for this!). Could hear noise from banging around in the apartment above."
